The philosophy club was held on October 16th in the library hall.
This time a topic about "emotional expressions" was discussed. Taking some 2-year-old children who have already learned to hide their sadness as an example, a question which had triggered people’s thinking was raised: could it be the same in animals, or if it has connection with the physical reaction of human being? For instance, whether it is the pain that brings humans the emotions of sadness or anger?
Professor Warren motivated students to think of the reason why there exist the difference in the aspect of controlling the emotion between adults and infants, the difference of emotional expressions between human being and animals, also the factor that affects the emotional expressions as well.
At the end of the conversation, someone pointed out that the behavior of the kid was deeply influenced by her/his parents. Those who don’t want to show their real emotion may fail to get the proper responds from their parents, so that they don’t want to spare any effort to show what they think unnecessary. That is an influential factor on the topic.
