On December 18th, the English Corner was held in the Library on schedule. The overseas teachers who attended the English Corner were Ms. Dulene Cipriano, Mr. Martin Stannard and Mr. Brian Harrison.
At first, Mr. Brian Harrison discussed American pop music with the students. All the students shared the singers and the bands that they like. Then, a student asked Mr. Brian Harrison why he chose to be a teacher in China. Mr. Brian Harrison replied that he was influenced by his brother who is a foreign teacher in Wuhan. He thought that he would have more free time and open his eyes. He likes China, and thinks the environment in Zhuhai is very suitable for leaving. Mr. Brian Harrison was a teacher in South Korea and he said working in Zhuhai was happier than in South Korea. He made many friends in Zhuhai.
At the same time, Ms. Dulene Cipriano and the students discussed the employment of college students. Ms. Dulene Cipriano thought that even some students who did well in the National Entrance Examination to enter a good university may lack practical skills. And she suggested that college students should spend their spare time on social activities or reading different kinds of books to improve their skills. The students couldn’t agree more with it.
Although it was very cold outside, the heated discussion between the students and teachers which was filled with joy and laughter warmed the library.
