The English Corner- Happy Summer Vacation

The English Corner this week was held on 5th of June at 6 p.m. in the Library. Although it was the last English Corner this semester, the lobby of library was still full of students. Today’s topic was about summer vocation, and the present overseas teachers were Ms. Linda Visner, Mr. Christopher Dockstader, Mr. Martin Stannard, Miss Amy Van Gundy, Mr. Charlie Reis, Mr. Ian Richard McHugh and Mr. Charles Brian Harrion.
Mr. Ian Richard McHugh shared his experience of teaching English to Japanese students in America. He said that wasn’t an easy job but he enjoyed it so much, as he has acquired a lot and made many friends at that time.
As summer vacation is coming soon, Mr. Ian Richard McHugh was asked about his plan for the holiday, he said he would travel in South Korea for a month. The students also shared their exciting vacation plans to each other. Some of them would go traveling. Some would do a part-time job, and some would like to stay at home and study. In addition, the Dragon Boat Festival is approaching. The students introduced the Chinese traditional dragon boat and Zongzi to Mr. Ian Richard McHugh.
At the same time, Mr. Christopher Dockstader showed the students his DIY name card. The card introduced Mr. Christopher Dockstader’s hobbies which are swimming and fitness. He also likes Chinese food and speaks Chinese and Japanese. He also has been to Thailand, the Philippines and other countries.
The library was full of warm and happy atmosphere. The teachers and the students got closer through the English Corner. In the atmosphere of warmth and joy, the English Corner of this semester came to an end. Let’s get ready for the final exams and expect the reunion in September!
