The English corner was held on 13th of March in the library. With students’ enthusiasm and teachers'' humor, the library was filled with laughter and joy. Mr. Chris Dockstader, Mr.Charlie Reis, Mr Stephen Keen, Ms.Sarah Tillman, Ms.Amy Van Gundy, Ms.Cecily Hurst attended the activity.
People choice to be a volunteer, for a number of different reasons: ranging from a desire to learn new skills, having fun, to recognizingthe social value. Cecily shared her unforgettable experience with students in volunteering at the gerocomium and poor regions. She taught us that volunteering gave her an opportunity to get in touch with those people who need help, which brings her a growing sense of satisfaction. Charlie pointed out that the spirits of army moved many people. As soldiers not only serve the people, but also contribute a lot to society’s security. Moreover, Stephen encouraged students to extend a hand when people are in trouble. When it comes to the international volunteering, Sarah told the students her plan to give a lesson in poor country. She said that it would be a happy thing to make the world a better place.
The students had good communication with the foreign teachers and didn''t leave until 8p.m. The activity not only helps the students to understand the value of being a volunteer, but also encourages them to be a member of volunteering team.
