At 7:00 p.m. on November 3, the School of Foreign Languages held the fourth lecture given by the native English teacher,Mr. Charlie Wilson, in Lize Building C202. Mr. Charlie Wilson held this lecture, which was entitled “Why Failure Is Good for Success”.
First of all, Mr. Charlie Wilson asked whether there was anyone who had ever experienced failure. Obviously the answer was no. Then he analyzed the relationship between failure and success in details.
He told us that no one is born perfect, and that we might confront different kinds of unexpected failures. The most important thing is the attitude we possess when facing failures. We should regard failure as a gift of God and never indulge in decadence, because "When the Lord closes one door, somewhere else he opens a window”. What’s more, failure is not a signal of imbecility, but a commencement that we head to success. During the lecture, Mr. Charlie Wilson patiently answered all kinds of questions asked by the students.
This lecture came to an end successfully with rapturous applause. All the students felt that this lecture is just like a beacon lighting up their advance, which encouraged them never to give up.
