On May 8, the English and Japanese Drama Contest was held by the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Room A302, Liyun Building. Ten teams took part in this contest. The judges were Dr. Ann Henry, Ms. Gaoyuan, the Director of the Administrative Office of the faculty, Mr.Zhen Wenkang, the Vice Director of the Japanese Department of FFL, Ms. Yin Xiaolei, the Secretary of the Youth League Branch and Mr. Chris Dockstader.
The contest was divided into three sections. First, each team showed bloopers to the audience as warm-up. In the second section each team performed with passion. The Japanese Drama entitled “Taketori Monogatari (The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter)” touched all. The English drama named “Is He the True or Pseudo Monkey King?” made everybody burst into laughter. At last, an excerpt of “Romeo and Juliet” was performed by the Shakespeare Drama Club.
In the end, Class 2 of Japanese Major 2010 got the first prize. The second prize went to Class 3 and class 4 of English Major 2010. The third prize went to class 5 of English Major 2010 and the class of Dual-Major 2010 and class 2 of Japanese Major 2010.
