题目：Language and Cross-Cultural Communication

【内容简介】

A lecture that looks at the role of culture in communication between people from different countries. We live in an increasingly global society. Therefore, an understanding of the role customs and culture play is an essential tool for better communication.

【主讲人简介】

Linda Visner is an American. She has a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of York (UK) and an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Surrey (UK). In addition to teaching at BNU-Zhuhai, she is currently doing research in China in preparation for her Ph.D.

Linda lived in the UK for 6 years. In the United States, she was an active participant in international student groups. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe and parts of Asia. Her husband is originally from China and she is proud to have a large Chinese family here. Her research, travels and experience have given her a great interest and passion for the subject of cross-cultural communication.
