Jack Merrington has been teaching English at BNU for a little over a month, and in China for over six years. He has a background in Artificial Intelligence, which has provided him with a healthy skepticism for claims made for new technologies.

演讲内容简介：

Imagine a world in which, for the price of a bus ticket, you are picked up at your doorstep and whisked directly to your destination, without stopping once at a traffic light, and without being slowed by traffic lams. This is the world of Personal Rapid Transport (PRT), and in this world such a service could be made available to everyone, rich and poor.

This lecture provides an in-depth look at this exciting new transportation system, and asks whether it really could be made to work.
