He’s a keen writer tracing links between Indian mythology and aesthetics, has written and lectured on music history, and has interests in cultural theory, postmodernism, education systems and the English language.

Sean''s from the School of Foreign Languages and will be introducing independent travel and some of the motives, skills, risks and returns involved; he''s showing several hundred images and maps from 86 countries and has thoughts on equipment to pack and health and safety hazards, along with a few anecdotes. He''s particularly enthusiastic about sub-Saharan Africa and south-southeast Asia, regions visited many times and will sketch the cultural sense that can be made of different major world regions; questions and comments welcome.
