演讲人：Mr. Craig Voligny

Craig Voligny was born in Michigan, U.S.A. in 1974, however ; has also lived in Ohio , Oregon, Alaska, Arkansas, North Carolina and has spent over eight years in Asia. He is a visual artist, instructor and a small business owner. Voligny has an M.F.A. (Master of Fine Arts) in painting from the University of Arkansas and a B.F.A. (Bachelors of Fine Arts) from the Columbus College of Art and Design . In 2010, he was a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in the field of Fine Arts. In addition, he has participated in more than 30 exhibitions, both nationally in the United States and internationally in Asia.

演讲内容简介:

Craig Voligny will give a lecture and slide presentation which will introduce different ways of viewing, thinking about and judging art from historical, contemporary and cultural perspectives. Major movements and theories of art of the past 100 years will be looked at in further detail to stimulate thought and audience participation. Some select works of major contemporary artist (including some from China) will also be discussed .

In the second half of the lecture, Voligny will introduce his own work. He will talk about a past exhibition which focused on the ecology of the Kenting Reef of the South China Sea, an exhibit that will open in January 2013 at Roanoke College in Virginia, and an exhibit slated to open in 2014 at the North Carolina Arboretum in conjunction with the University of North Carolina-Asheville.
