English Corner is held in the library every Wednesday. Although the weather is getting colder and colder, it still can not prevent the students from attending the English Corner. Tonight the present overseas teachers included Mr. Martin Stannard, Mr. Christopher Dockstader, Mr. Gerard Brent and Mr. Dallas. With the arrival of the last month of 2012, what the ancient Mayans predicted, the world will be finished on December 21st, “Doomsday”, naturally became the topic tonight.

Being asked about whether the overseas teachers believed the prediction about the Doomsday or not, all of them disagreed with the idea. Mr. Stannard thought the Doomsday was based upon Mayan calendar, and that it was still far off. Students also considered that the prediction was not true. And then, the overseas teachers asked if December 21st was really the Doomsday, what they would like to do before that day? Mr. Dallas affectionately said that he would always accompany his wife to face all difficulties. There was a student who expressed he would continue to take the IELTS test to fulfill his dream of going abroad. Mr. Gerard Brent also discussed the Disaster Movie2012and described how the hero tried to survive.

Finally, all the teachers agreed that no matter whether the Doomsday would come, the most important thing for everyone was to cherish every single day and just be themselves.
