At 7 p.m. on November 17th, School of Foreign Languages held the sixth lecture which was given by an American teacher, Mr. Charlie Reis, in Lize C202. The title was "What We Talk about When We Talk about Zombies". Through this lecture, he tried to make students think about the popular zombies’ culture.

First of all, the lecture began with a question: Zombies didn''t have much personality and weren''t romantic or sexy the way vampires could be, but still there were so many "zombies" around us. What''s the reason and what did it mean?

Then Mr. Charlie Reis listed a lot of things about zombies, such as zombie movies, descriptions, video games, goods and so on. In order to explain what zombies are, he compared them to slaves, nonstop time and even disguised enemies. In his opinion, zombies showed us what we fear. They showed us a picture of the world that was becoming inhuman and reflected serious global problems, which was the answer we searched for in the beginning.

Finally, students came up with many interesting questions, such as how zombies digested food. Mr. Charlie Reis answered the questions patiently and advised students to think about things or the world in different ways.
