In Liyun Building Room B301, Mr. Tim Musgrave, one of the English native teachers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL), gave a lecture entitled ‘Reality TV - the death of light entertainment?’ at 7:00 P.M. on March 15th.
This lecture introduced the details of the history of the Reality TV, including how it happened, the evolution and the consequences of the light entertainment. Mr. Musgrave raised some questions. For example, nowadays, an ordinary person can become an overnight star through the TV programs, but is this entertainment or just cheap scheduling? Is fame equal to success? During the lecture, Mr. Musgrave showed many interesting videos which contributed to an active atmosphere. After that, Mr. Musgrave chatted with students and answered their questions.
Some students said that this lecture broadened their horizons, and they hoped the FFL would hold more activities like this.
