Mr. Gerard Brent
Gerard has taken Lecturer roles in IT and Human Resources and has Teacher Certification from New Zealand. In addition, was the Branch Chair of the Lecturers Union for 10 years.
A manufacturing company background in the UK with British Aerospace and several other best practice organizations. Training and development has been a core area throughout his career covering various management roles in the UK and in New Zealand.Gerard has now spent over two years in China, teaching at University level in Guangxi before taking up a role in Shanghai teaching International Logistics. IELTS teaching has also played a major role.
Gerard studied at the University of Hull being awarded a B.A (Honours) in Business Information Systems and after further study awarded the Master of Management Studies (MMS).
Various Professional qualifications were obtained in Work Study, (Institute of Work Study) and in Human Resources (Institute of Personnel Management).
Specialist English teaching courses have been taken in the following areas:
TEFL, TESOL, IELTS, TOEFL and PGA Training Certificate.
Gerard’s teaching strength lies in his ability to draw from practical experience within many training roles, to provide the course participants with the freedom to learn in a positive environment. He aims to provide energy and humour as essential elements within course delivery, while maintaining structure and purpose.
His sporting interests include Running, biking and staying healthy and has been a strict vegetarian for many years.
